Heavy Metal has been a personal favorite. The sheer violence of metal on metal is a burst of raw energy and deep seated anger. Sometimes, the visualizations on jacket covers are close to pure horror and the music speaks to the beast in all.

Country music expresses the soul of the south, fields of corn and soy and young love in the fields often accompanied by a glass of whisky or soda in a Dixie cup. Music speaks to universal human emotions and doesn’t need language to bind. At first, many genres of music can sound alien but if you search for the soul, you find that the genre represents a set of emotions that you can identify with. Just as learning a new skill can be hard, developing a liking for different sounds can be hard. As they say, no pain no gain. In the case of music though, the sheer joy cannot be compared to the pain of learning. My wish for all – travel through music and keep exploring alien sounds to discover your own – http://srogers.carto.com/viz/14ebbf8c-ac44-11e4-8a55-0e018d66dc29/embed_map
